C0LLABORATING WITH DUDLEY HIGH SCHOOL 2024/2025

On October 10, 2024, OPERATION: SEED, INC. presented the first of our 2024/2025 monthly Life Skill sessions with twenty CTE students at James B. Dudley High School! We appreciate Ms. W. Wooden (CTE Lead Teacher/FBLA Advisor), Ms. C. Donahue-Wright (Communities In Schools Site Coordinator), the Dudley High School Administration, and the students for this NEW collaboration! Our presenter was Mrs. Heather Lyons, the Marketing Manager for Revity Federal Credit Union, and her focus was: Financial Literacy. Ms. Lyons and Revity FCU have supported the vision and mission of OPERATION: SEED, INC. in presence and financial grants since day one…and we are grateful! We were also able to sponsor the membership fees for five Dudley High School students in the Future Business Leaders of America Club FBLA National Center! “Thank You” to our grantors and donors who supported us in providing this session, a light breakfast (“Thank You” to McDonald’s in Oak Ridge for the generous discount), and resource bags for each of the students! We are encouraged as we continue to connect with our community to encourage our youth!

Much appreciation to the James B. Dudley High School Administration; Ms. W. Wooden, Lead CTE Teacher; and Mrs. Donahue-Wright, Communities In Schools of Greater Greensboro Site Coordinator for welcoming OPERATION: SEED, INC. back into the classroom on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 3 pm to connect the community with a dynamic group of thirty students! The guest presenters for our Career Exploration Munch & Learn Session were from Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center, Inc: Randi Francis, Executive Director/CEO; and Joshua Colon, System Admin/STEM Coordinator! Ms. Francis and Mr. Colon shared about the phenomenal programs and certification opportunities offered to students in elementary school, middle school, and high school (and also to adults) through their organization. The programs include (but are not limited to): Drone Flight School (with Pilot Licensing), Robotics, Coding, Computer Repair, Cyber Security, Summer Teen Paid Apprenticeship Program; STEM Afterschool Program at The Academy at Lincoln and the Hope Academy; Summer Camp for 1st to 8th Graders; Robotics Competition Teams, and much, much, much more. The Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center has secured multiple grants from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and other investors in order to provide these opportunities at no cost to the participants. Joshua Colon is a humble young man with a powerful testimony about winning, losing, regrouping; and now soaring in his life and in his career with The Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center. We greatly appreciate our guests and their willingness to collaborate with us! Thank you to the students for your time and engagement! “Thanks” also to Daniel, Manager at the Alamance Church Road Domino's Pizza; and all of our grantors, individual donors, and community partners!
